Avian Labwork with Dr. Frank Rutowski
Presented by Dr. Frank Rutowski,DVM, Animal Care Hospital of Matthews. Parrots are prey species, and as such, they are very good at hiding their illnesses. Often, we must rely on lab tests to determine what is causing illness in a parrot, or to make sure they are healthy. In this presentation we will discuss the tests we use for birds and what the results mean, so that you will be better able to understand the overall health of your bird. We will also discuss some of the more common diseases that our parrots can contract and some of the latest tests available. Join us as we learn even more about the “ins and outs” of avian medicine.
