CPR is dedicated to the rescue, foster and adoption of surrendered or found parrots. Our priority is identifying potential adoption homes and educating caregivers in proper parrot care.

Adopting from CPR

Because all of the birds in the CPR adoption program have experienced the loss of one or more homes, CPR believes that every adoption should represent the best possible match and opportunity for a successful relationship. Our Adoption Process and Policies are based on best practices learned from more than a decade of research.

Upon entering the CPR adoption program, each bird is examined by a board certified avian veterinarian and placed into a 30-day offsite quarantine program. After quarantine, the bird resides at Parrot University, where he/she has the opportunity to socialize with other birds, volunteers and potential adopters. The birds also work with a trainer to resolve issues and learn new skills. All potential adopters spend hands-on time with their potential adoption bird before adoptions are finalized.

Attend A Class

Life with a parrot involves a special commitment and CPR believes that education is the key to maintaining a successful relationship. In addition to the two required classes, adopters are encouraged to attend any and all of our free Classes.
