Companion Parrots Re-homed is an all-volunteer organization. Please consider sharing your time and talent to help homeless parrots and promote adoption. Just complete a Volunteer Interest Form and we’ll notify you about the next Volunteer Orientation Session.

Here are some of the opportunities available to volunteers. Watch this space for more.

Visitor Service Representative — represent the organization on-site, assisting visitors and potential adopters and monitoring the birds. Click for Position Description.

Resident Bird Care Volunteer –feeding/giving water to birds up for adoption. Other related tasks. Click for Position Description.

Event Representative — represent CPR at community events. Set up event and talk with visitors and introduce them to CPR. Click for Position Description.

Quarantine/Foster Care — provide the first 30 days of care for a new bird in our adoption program, in your home. Click for Position Description and requirements.

Toy-Maker — make toys for the CPR birds and for resale. Flexible hours are available during business hours. Toy-making class is a pre-requisite.

Transportation Services — pick up birds being surrendered, take CPR birds to the vet, or pick up supplies. This is an on-call position. Must present a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Leadership – there are many opportunities to lead and guide volunteers. Coordinate an activity, chair a committee or serve on the Board of Directors.

Training – Apply the principles of positive reinforcement training to improve positive behaviors of the birds in the adoption program. Positive Reinforcement Training class required.

Communications and Promotions — Support CPR’s marketing and outreach programs. Copywriting, content creation, desktop publishing, design or public relations skills preferred.

Fundraising — CPR depends on fundraising activities for its operating revenue. Opportunities exist for grant writers, people with fundraising experience and others interested in helping CPR raise funds to fulfill its mission.

Education — Present scripted educational presentations at Parrot University and off-site locations. Great opportunity for people with knowledge of parrots who enjoy public speaking and presenting in front of groups.
